There are many problems with Adam’s plan to rekindle Victoria and Ashland’s romance. First, that effort could serve as a distraction for the restored Newman Enterprises’ co-CEO.

Second, Victor paid a fortune to push Ashland out of Victoria’s life. In this instance, the Moustache was not thinking solely of business. No, he wanted Ashland gone because Victor knows Victoria retains feelings for her annulled husband.

Sally should have the insight to know that attempting to re-pair that duo risks enraging Victor. But Hope’s character is so into Adam that she goes along with whatever he suggests.

As the Young and the Restless viewers recall, Ashland saved Victoria’s life when pulling Heinle’s character from her burning car. That matters to her but not Adam, as he brushed it off as nothing.

Adam knows that Victor provided a redemptive vehicle in creating Newman Media and allowing him to head it. So, instead of continuing to follow his dad’s directives, Adam is undermining him.

Victor is a brilliant businessman and an intuitive father. Adam risks being the one Victor loses confidence in, rather than Victoria, if Braeden’s character gets wind of the plan to reunite Victoria and Ashland.
