Billy was right to be suspicious of the tension he sensed between Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) and Adam. After returning from Baltimore, Maryland, they acted strangely around each other and in front of him and Sally.

Sally just convinced herself that Adam had told her the truth. That makes Billy’s reveal all the more devastating.

Chelsea did what was right when telling Billy what happened with Adam. Yes, she could have told him earlier and did lie on more than one occasion when he pressed her to unburden herself.

However, Chelsea’s truthful detailing of her emotionally based reconnection with Adam profoundly impacted Billy. Thompson’s character felt sorry for Chelsea, knowing she was harboring an unhealthy secret.

Billy is glad Chelsea told him the truth, meaning a path to forgiveness and reconciliation is possible. Sally does not feel the same because of her reverse experience.

Sally repeatedly asked Adam to tell her if something happened in Maryland. She never got a straight answer and eventually asked him directly about Sally.

Adam’s denial came while he looked at her. To lie to the face of someone he claims to love is wrong on all levels. That also happened after this couple reconciled in the recent past following a long break.

The loss of Ava, the daughter Sally was carrying but lost before she was born, created natural grief. It should not have ended Sally and Adam’s relationship, but that happened because he did not learn the value of that incredibly hard life lesson.

Time also didn’t cause Adam to understand that lying about a mistake, regardless of its severity, is wrong. He withheld that truth to protect himself, not Sally.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Set For Attack

Victor was already targeting Billy through planned skullduggery. He enlisted and installed Adam at Newman Media with the intent purpose of sullying Chancellor’s ability to conduct business.

Adam told Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) that he would never allow his father to manipulate him into doing anything that would harm Bergman’s character. But Billy is not Jack, and Chancellor is not Jabot.

In Adam’s mind, Billy is responsible for destroying the trust he reestablished with Sally. That means he will do all Victor wants and more in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Billy will be hard-pressed to withstand the coming onslaught, including the information Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) learned about Jill Abbott (Jess Walton).
