The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Amanda Sinclair Barely Got Up The Nerve To Call Her Birth Mother
Viewers of The Young and The Restless will recall that Amanda barely got up the nerve to call her birth mother after she and Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) took a trip out of town so Amanda (Mishael Morgan) could meet her. Instead, she chickened out when she saw Naya opening the door to her youngest daughter Imani Benedict (Leigh-Ann Rose) and warmly greeting her. Amanda was in tears and told Devon to take her back home.
She spent a few days agonizing over the sight and that neither she nor her private detective could get Naya to answer her phone. After a long talk with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) over lunch at Crimson Lights, Amanda decides she has to try one more time to call her birth mother. She struggled with getting up the nerve to do so, considering that from everything she knows of Naya she married into money after giving her and her twin Hilary up as infants.
The background check her investigator did found nothing that would indicate Naya was too poor to take care of Amanda and her twin and still doesn’t understand why she split her and Hilary up. Finally, she decides she must call and tell Naya who she is and why she has been trying to contact her. Shaky and tearful, she called and got an answer, and told her who she was and that she was the twin that she didn’t give to her cousin Rose Turner (Leslie Stevens) as a baby. She also said she wanted to meet with her.

Naya was obviously taken aback when she answered Amanda; she could do nothing except hold the phone away from her! The look on her face seemed to tell it all; she seemed like after years, here came her past that she wanted to get away from staring her in the face again! Meanwhile, Amanda hears nothing but continued silence on her end and doesn’t know what to make of it; is Naya rejecting her yet again, or is she in shock? Naya doesn’t return to the conversation and likely hangs up, and Amanda is devastated! She contacts Devon and wants to talk.
They meet and Amanda is upset, Naya finally answers the phone but Amanda couldn’t get an answer about the two of them meeting. Devon tries to comfort her, and tells her there has to be a reasonable explanation. Maybe Naya feels guilty and regrets giving her twins away. Maybe Rose could only take one twin. Naya is probably in shock, after all, Hilary never knew about Naya and Rose was probably sworn to secrecy. She may not understand how Amanda has this information and needs time to process. Amanda agrees that all Devon is telling her does make a lot of sense, and she decides to give it a few days.
Maybe Naya will call her back after she gets over the shock of it all. After a couple of days, Amanda does get that call, but it’s not what she wants to hear. She receives a stern warning from Naya to leave her alone and never contact her again! It’s everything Amanda was afraid would happen, but why the overreaction of telling her never to contact her again? Amanda doesn’t understand!

What is it that Naya wants to hide? I'm thinking that all Amanda wants to know is information about her past. How could she be so cruel? She has already hurt the child she dropped off at a disclosed location long ago enough so at least she can tell her the whys, and the whos, and the why nots. After all, I think that she owes her that much.
Amanda did not just fine out that she grew up in foster care. Hopefully her foster parents were very good parents to her. she is very smart so, why is she just now looking for her birth mother?
