Ashland would normally have been rebuked by Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) after she learned that his identity was stolen. But he was not. One could have guessed that Victoria would have used Newman Enterprises’ legal team to break the merger deal with Locke Communications after learning that he robbed the late Camilla Rhodes (no actor known to be cast for this retrospective role). But she did not.
Victoria is rationalizing her husband’s criminal behavior in the name of love. And her father, the great Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), has protected Ashland, just as Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) said.

Ashland forged a will codicil that changed Camilla’s wishes. That gave him the capital needed to start a media empire that is now part of Newman-Locke.
Nick believes that Victor is choosing to defend and protect Ashland because of the merger. The fact that Victor also sided with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) irks Nick as well. That emotional response is tied to Victoria’s treatment of Morrow’s character, who voluntarily went to great lengths to protect his sister.

Y&R Spoilers – Lily Winters Is Influential
Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is a calming influence on Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), who was bound and determined to expose Ashland’s secrets to the world. Their conversations allowed Billy to realize that his relationship with Victoria, who is the adoptive mother of Johnny Abbott (Holden and Ryan Hare) and the mother of Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri), is vital.
Billy’s decision not to publish what Jesse Gaines (Jamison Jones) told him was significant. Ashland and Lily were also impressed when Billy deleted the video file Jesse sent him.
Ashland recognized that Billy was rejecting the opportunity to make money on what would have been trending news. Lily realized that Billy is developing self-control skills, which represents important growth.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke’s Diagnosis Changes?
Y&R has pushed a narrative for many months. It includes moments where Burgi is alone in a scene and is suffering health problems. That likely means he is not faking the cancer diagnosis, which was a plausible conclusion to reach considering all the lies he has told.
It could be that TPTB always planned to have Ashland remain part of the scene. It is also possible that this character was a short-term player and that various factors impacted calculations, which allow him to live indefinitely.
