Like Ashland, Nate would need to realize some form of remarkable physical advancement. Miraculous would be a keen adjective to use as well. Of course, keen is a good adjective too, with the hoped for penetrating breakthroughs combining in a projected, uplifting storyline.

More realistically, Nate is likely the latest person to recognize Ashland’s increasingly challenging predicament. However, even though he can’t perform in the operating room, Nate could become involved in life extension efforts.

Depending on whether TPTB are going to allow Ashland to live, it’s possible that this development could lead to Burgi’s character also entering a period of remission.

All options must be soberly considered. Yes, that means Ashland’s mortality could result in the planned Vashland wedding never happening or Victoria becoming a widow.

Ashland isn’t a rebound from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson). She truly has fallen in love with Burgi’s alter ego.

That’s one of the positive developments to come from the Vashland pairing, as a Villy rebound wasn’t in the daytime cards. As long as Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) investigation into Ashland’s past doesn’t uncover anything terrible, Victoria will press on with her nuptial plans.

This well-paired match developed so quickly because of their commonalities and due to Ashland’s diagnosis. Victoria knows that Ashland has a short time left on the earth.

Victoria intends to marry Ashland in Tuscany, Italy, in October. But that fall wedding is far from certain, as Y&R fans know.
