Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) and Victoria Newman Locke (Amelia Heinle) visited a clinic in Peru in the recent past. Ashland used that facility because it was said to have an experimental cancer regimen available.
Victor questioned why Ashland would have to travel to Peru when the United States has the top medical care in the world. The audience also questioned why that specific country was named, considering its tie to an infamous side character who looked exactly like Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman).

Devoted fans recall that Marco was serving time in jail when Victor became aware of him. The drug lord was used as part of a scheme to get information out of Adam Newman (as then played by Justin Hartley).
Jack was captured while he and Phyllis Summers (as then played by Gina Tognoni) were on their honeymoon. Phyllis was unaware of the abduction because Marco replaced him and assumed Jack’s identity for months.

Victor also used a mentally unstable Kelly Andrews (Cady McClain) as part of that plot, with McClain’s character being killed while she was holding Jack hostage.
Adam, who was presumed dead, had radical plastic surgery after he and Billy Abbott (Billy Miller) were in a terrible car accident. Adam called himself Gabriel Bingham upon his later return to town.
Y&R Spoilers – Good Old One Ear
This highly controversial storyline eventually led to all being revealed, with Victor having his enforcers cut off one of Marco’s ears. That was done to try and prevent Marco from returning to seek revenge by assuming Jack’s persona.
Marissa Sierras (Sofia Pernas) and her husband, Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva), were also involved in that tale. Marissa partnered with Jack, as he made his way back to Genoa City, Wisconsin, who escaped his captors. Luca was tied to Marco.

Victor told Luca that Marco was killed in prison. But can anyone trust what the Moustache says or, if he thought that was true, is it possible that Marco faked his death?
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Ashland Locke Is A Villain
Ashland was proud to be known as a villain when he was living in New York. His move to GC eventually resulted in him merging Locke Communications with Newman Enterprises. Ashland professed to be dying and wanted his later wife to head his legacy.
It would be outlandish if Ashland is revealed to be Marco, as no radical surgery could create an ear that looks real. But having Ashland’s friend at the clinic be Marco or the reveal involve some other tie to Jack’s look-a-like would represent good soap.
