Victor doesn’t want to destroy his relationship with Victoria. The patriarch also isn’t interested in humiliating his daughter. So, Victor confronts Ashland and tells him to be honest with Victoria. Victor then says that Ashland is going to give Victoria a quick divorce and quietly leave town.
