Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) performed kind-hearted damage control after Kyle relayed Summer Newman Abbott’s (Allison Lanier) revealed behavior. Kyle was outraged that Summer knew about Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) being alive before her brother.
But Diane defended Summer’s actions, stating that she was put in a terrible position by Phyllis. Diane sees Phyllis as the villain and appeared to get through to Kyle.

But hard feelings persist because Summer’s recent decisions to protect her mother’s murder hoax created legal havoc for Diane.
Y&R Spoilers – Nate Hastings Wants A Top Spot
Nate decided to stop being a doctor and become a businessman. Nate’s choice was forced after his cousin, Devon Hamilton Winters (Bryton James), learned of his cavorting with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) and sucker-punched Dominic’s character.
The effect of the fall Nate took permanently damaged one of his hands. He was no longer able to perform surgery. Nate tried to work in hospital management but did not find it fulfilling.
Reconciling with Devon included accepting a position at Chancellor-Winters. But Nate double-crossed Devon and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) by being part of a takeover effort Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) backed.

Victoria valued Nate’s loyalty by not revealing her connection and later hired him at Newman Enterprises. They have since become romantically involved and are now a public couple. Nate sees those developments as a pathway to co-heading the company with Victoria shortly.

Audra found a soul mate, of sorts, in Tucker. They were both connivers during the period their alliance held.
Noah’s move back to Europe and Tucker’s sale of McCall Unlimited meant Audra had to recalculate. She did so on the fly and deserves back-handed credit for aligning herself with Nate who can help her advance business goals.
Audra’s seeming targeting of Kyle is dangerous. But Silver’s character does not lack self-confidence on Y&R.
