The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that “Bad Billy”, Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) dissociative identity disorder alter, may be on his way back in upcoming episodes of The Young and The Restless!

Billy Abbott Has Displayed Some Troubling Behavior As Of Late

As Y & R viewers know, in spite of making all his counseling appointments with his psychiatrist, Billy Abbott has displayed some troubling behavior of late – behavior that doesn’t even make sense to Billy himself! First there was the sudden exit from Jabot – and the aimless mental search that Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) tried to help him find his next career with using a word association game. Billy is bored, Billy is unchallenged, but Billy doesn’t know what he wants or who he is or who he wants to be!

Then there are the lies and excuses – even though he loves Victoria, he lied to her and told her he was going to talk to his older brother Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), but instead wound up in a dive bar where he got acquainted with and trapped for the night with Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan). This was not intentional, it was due to the severe weather, but still he received some texts from Victoria and a call and ignored them and then lied to her when they met up at home later, and he didn’t even understand why he lied – he hadn’t done anything wrong, unless you count his ignoring of her call and texts.

Troubling Behaviors And Sudden Irresponsibility Can Be Symptoms Of Other Mental Illnesses

Even though these troubling behaviors and sudden irresponsibility can be indicators that his dissociative identity disorder could be on the verge of getting out of control and that “Bad Billy” could be on his way back, they can also be symptoms of other mental illnesses, such as bipolar disorder, some sort of personality disorder, depression, or even secret recreational drug use. But longtime Y & R viewers will recall Billy was always irresponsible in his younger years, with alcohol and gambling addictions.

That’s why he got sent overseas years ago to work in a small branch office there – instead of working in the Jabot collective corporate office. He seems a little too young for a midlife crisis, that usually happens to men closer to Jack’s age. Bipolar disorder can definitely make someone irresponsible, and sometimes combative and if the sufferer is in a depressive mode, they will do things to comfort themselves and not care how it affects their family, friends, finances, or even themselves! It is behind many cases of alcohol and drug addiction, and sometimes even the commission of crimes!

Is Billy Abbott Depressed, In An Early Midlife Crisis, Or Bipolar And Undiagnosed? Or Is Another Alter Emerging?

Is Billy depressed, in an early midlife crisis, undiagnosed bipolar disorder, or is another alter emerging? Usually with clinical depression the person will pull away from family, friends, hobbies, jobs, and all social contact and he has not done that. He’s a bit too young for a midlife crisis although in soap opera land this may be what the writers will give Billy. Other than that it is more likely to be undiagnosed bipolar disorder than it is another alter, or “Bad Billy” emerging.
