This week’s episode of CBS The Young a Restless is being dedicated to the Abbott clan, which means that Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland) will be seeing more screen time this week. One of the episodes will be including the storyline where Traci who had moved to New York, came back to Genoa City due to a family gathering that was taking place.
She came back in a recent rerun I order to celebrate her family who was able to regain control over their company, Jabot Cosmetics. In Wednesday’s episode, she will be returning in order to check on her daughter, Colleen (Lyndsy Fonseca). Colleen at the time is staying with her father, Brad (Don Diamont, now Bill on The Bold and the Beautiful). Brad had moved on with Traci’s sister Ashley (Eileen Davidson).
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Beth Maitland Talks Colleen Carlton And Brad Carlton
In an interview with TV Insider, Maitland explained, “[Colleen] was trying to be independent and she was becoming reckless. She was acting out and was being defiant. The tension [in this episode] comes from Traci seeing her daughter in Brad’s home.”
As viewers of the daytime soap know, Brad would later die in a tragic way as he tries to save Noah (Kevin Schmidt), who was in danger of drowning in an icy lake. This left Brad and Traci with one final scene that took place in the Genoa City Athletic Club in which he told his ex that she was the one who got away.

She looked back on the scene saying, “That scene was so revelatoryled. To have the opportunity — decades after we first started working together – to do a scene like that and bring things full circle? That doesn’t get to happen anywhere else but on daytime.” Maitland says that she thinks that Brad was Traci’s soulmate but is not sure that Traci’s was Brad’s soulmate.
“I’m not sure about Brad as he had many other pairings – Ashley, Lauren (Tracey Bregman), Cassandra Rawlins (Nina Arvesen) – but Traci definitely saw him as the one who got away. After they split up, she went on with her life and tried to find some sort of happiness.”
Beth continued by saying, “I’ve learned in my own life that you can only be responsible for yourself. You cannot control anybody else’s choices, feelings, or decisions. You can only be true to yourself. This is what defines us – how we deal with circumstances over which we have no control!” We’ll give you updates as Y&R news comes in.
