CBS The Young and the Restless spoilers document Beth Maitland (Traci Abbott) is happy to promote her colleague’s Daytime Emmy winning efforts that will kick off Y&R’s next theme week, which runs from June 22 through June 26.
Maitland used her Instagram account to post a Y&R preview video that highlights upcoming episodes. Her character, Traci, is highlighted in the first classic show that will be seen.
The longtime cast member posted comments aside from the video that said, “Join us next week for Daytime Emmy Week. I’ll kick Monday off from 1984. EPIC. @youngandrestlesscbs.”
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Traci Abbott Is A Legacy Character
Maitland won a Daytime Emmy Award in 1985. She took the prize in the Outstanding Actress in a Supporting Role in a Daytime Drama Series category. The actor joined the cast in 1984, with the award covering the backdated period from when her initial storyline was playing.
As hardcore fans recall, Traci was pregnant and involved in a life or death storyline that led to her marrying Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian), who was not the father of her expected child. Traci later miscarried and divorced Danny.
During that era in show history, Traci was also treated very harshly by Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), who was involved with Danny. Traci later married Brad Carlton (Don Diamont).
Y&R Spoilers – Beth Maitland’s Other Projects
Y&R was Maitland’s first entertainment credit. While remaining with the cast since the mid-1980s, she’s also worked on other television and film projects.
The South Dakota native appeared in the TV movie, Plaza Suite, in 1987, and the big-screen flick, Mr. Holland’s Opus in 1995.
As various other Y&R characters have done, Traci crossed over to The Bold and the Beautiful in 2007.
In the 2010’s Maitland appeared in the TV movie, The Groove, the TV series, Criminal Minds, and most recently, in 2019’s film short, Number 2.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Abbott Family Providing Comfort
Traci, along with her brother, Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman), sister, Ashley Abbott (Eileen Davidson), niece, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway), and nephews (Kyle Abbott) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) are all looking out for Dina Mergeron (Marla Adams), who moved home from a Memory Care Center just prior to when the last new episode was shown in late April.
