So, Billy is already feeling like an outsider and that will continue to get more intense. As Billy and Lily continue to go in different directions, one of them could form a new connection.

“Billy is feeling that he’s found a voice with these podcasts, which helps him to explore things about himself and the world. At the same time, he’s seeing Lily’s family come together with the merger of Chancellor and Hamilton/Winters, and that makes Billy question how he fits into that. This could spin him in a new direction that may connect him with someone surprising.”

      No one just now. Billy never truly faces his issues, instead he always tries to convince himself that a relationship with a new and better woman will/has helped him cure him of his issues. Billy has to come to finally understand he has to get help to sort his life out and unless he does no relationship will ever work. Perhaps Sharon could tell him that, they are genuine friends with no romance to distract from his issues. Sharon (as only a friend, not a love interest) should set Billy on a better path and put him in touch with a therapist who really helps Billy to see he can keep the positive aspects of his character but let go of his distructive parts of his life. Allie is too young and inexperienced to be getting involved with Billy, even as a friend and the story would be too much like how he latched on to Amanda when she came to town. Billy is too old to be hanging around Allie, its a bit uncomfortable the thought of him hanging around a young woman, especially a relative and his past indiscretion with Summer makes him and this situation with Allie even more distasteful.
