Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) is Billy’s nephew. Phillip Chancellor III (Thom Bierdz) and Billy are brothers through Jill.

While Billy and Chance get along, Floyd’s character has not overtly countered his uncle to date. Chance is no pushover; his name, like Billy’s, is on the masthead. So, clashes will likely occur if he assumes a significant role in the company due to Lily’s absence.

Floyd’s character recently left the police force and decided to join the family business. Jill was thrilled that her grandson made the decision. He’s since learned that the danger in the business world contrasts with that on the street when he protected the public.

Billy’s tension with Devon Winters (Bryton James) and then Lily continues to create seemingly unnecessary drama. But viewers know that good, soapy conflict has resulted.

As summer touches fall, viewers expect Chance to take a stand for the family business. Whether that will be enough to prevent Billy from leaving Abbott Chancellor vulnerable will be seen.

Lily had no intentions of leaving Abbott Chancellor. She agreed to Billy’s demand that the company name be changed and was willing to work around his desire to remain front and center.
