Ashland’s ticking clock has radically altered his outlook. His bark has transformed into softer tones.

Fatalism is the order of the day, with Victoria becoming the first person beyond Ashland’s doctor to know that time is short. Billy believes Victoria’s link to Ashland will disrupt her life and potentially Villy’s children.
