However, Jill Abbott Atkinson’s (Jess Walton) return to Genoa City, Wisconsin, for the merger launch allows her to see that Billy is still volatile.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is not happy with Billy’s Grinning Soul podcast, where he digitally masks his voice and lashes out at whatever topic irks him. However, Lily has been distracted since being given control of Chancellor by Jill.

Te Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters Is The New Victoria Newman?

No, Lily is not like Victoria. While Lily and Billy dated when they were young, this pairing does not share anywhere near the emotional or family history that Billy and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) do.

Lily has added a new element to Billy’s life. She is not nearly as reactive to his personality quirks, which gives him room to breath.

While Billy was wrong for abandoning Victoria, his overall assessment of that relationship was right. Lily is the best woman for Billy now. But he needs to maintain his support for her, rather than being needy as he too often was with Victoria.

Y&R Spoilers – Jill Abbott Knows Her Baby Boy

Billy has been called a boy by Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) on an uncountable number of occasions. But Victor’s tag is not off-base.

Victoria endured needless emotional torture. Lily has not faced that type of heavy assault to date, with Jill embracing another quality lady who can help keep her youngest son on a straight path.

Jill’s initial plan to have Lily serve as a business check on Billy worked. That also nicely led to their romantic connection, which retains the potential trend toward marriage. Yet, until that formal step is taken, Jill and the fans are right to wonder if Billy and Lily will survive long-term?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Too Soulful?

Billy believes he has found a way to release the thoughts in his head. The Grinning Soul is the current outlet he uses to avoid having his mind implode.

Thompson’s character has been dealing with mental health issues for years. It is fair to critique some of the story lines Billy has been written into as a bit flippant because the topic is serious.

The move to split Billy and Lily was wise, as it has allowed a fresh set of takes for the characters Thompson and Heinle play. They are both strong actors.

Thompson’s range is highlighted in this mature approach to Billy attempting to deal with his life. Kudos to TPTB for taking a more measured approach on Y&R.
