Billy’s instincts proved highly worthwhile. He was right about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) being on edge. But her stronger bond is with Adam.

While it is true that Billy and Chelsea also share a child, Adam and Connor Newman’s (Judah Mackey) parents are a family. Grossman’s character does not want to allow Billy to insert himself into Chelsea’s life, but there seems to be no way to cut that tie.

Chelsea wants to keep Adam at a distance and is attempting to send a message to Billy, so he does not smother her. So, both men are not vying for Chelsea but using her as a proxy for their latest battle on Y&R.
