In Y&R’s January 13 episode, Cane opened up to Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) about wanting to help Billy. Although Phyllis thinks it’s a mistake, Cane can see that Billy’s hurting over not getting his own piece of the payback pie.
Cane still feels a connection from when he pretended to be Billy’s brother and doesn’t want to leave him empty-handed. Although Cane hasn’t divulged exactly what prize he plans to give Billy yet, we can think of a good one!
Adam recently used Newman Media to launch Jabot’s scandal, which derailed Billy and Sally Spectra’s (Courtney Hope) Abbott Communications launch party. The chaotic Jabot news stole the spotlight, so Billy wasn’t happy about that.
That’s on top of the rivalry that’s already been going on between Adam and Billy for years. Billy would love a chance to make Adam suffer and be part of this larger revenge plot on Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) in some way.
Since Billy has plenty of media company experience, perhaps Cane will decide to give him control of Newman Media. Now that Cane’s ready to meet with Billy about what’s next, he may make a pitch that’s too tempting to resist.
It makes sense for Cane to hand over the Newman Media reins to Billy at some point now that this takeover scheme is happening. Billy could merge it with Abbott Communications and make a mega media empire, so that could leave him gloating to Adam soon enough.

Of course, Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) may have some reservations despite her issues with Adam bowing to Victor. Two wrongs don’t make a right, so Sally may complain about Billy surrendering to his vengeful side and becoming part of Cane’s mess with Phyllis.
