The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Billy Trying To Gain Control Of Himself – Midlife Crisis Gets Worst

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is trying to gain full control over himself. He’s struggling to do it, but does seem to make progress at times.

The voice in Billy’s head that previously told him to do wrong is softer. He recognizes that his conscience is battling impulses to stray, as has happened so often before.

In effect, Billy is enduring what could be termed a midlife crisis. Many Y&R characters have gone through a similar period of self-reflection when they were in their forties or fifties. This situation feels fresh and appears to offer interesting choices for Thompson’s character, which is a credit to the show’s brain trust.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Stale Bar Setting Purposeful

Vickie Newman (Amelia Heinle) recently referenced how she and Billy (as then played by Billy Miller) first clicked. She found him in the gutter outside of a bar in Genoa City, Wisconsin, at New Year’s time.

Writing Billy back to a similar-looking stale bar setting doesn’t actually take this character full circle. More than a simple revisit of past demons, the nearly 2020 edition of Billy is much different than he was all those soapy years ago.

Having children changed Billy. The loss of Delia Abbott (as then played by Sophie Pollono) and the births of Johnny Abbott (Ryan and Holden Hare) and Katie Abbott (Sienna Mercuri) impacted him in profound ways.

Y&R Spoilers – Vickie Newman Central To Ongoing Recovery

Vickie is clearly the love of Billy’s life. Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) is Delia’s mother, but there was never a love connection between Chilly. The same is true with Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who is Johnny’s birth mother, with Vickie later adopting Johnny.

Heinle is a remarkable actor, who has worked with various actors who’ve portrayed Billy. She’s made each coupling believable, as is true of the chemistry that she and Thompson share on-screen.

Billy must focus on Vickie, along with his children so that he doesn’t lose the Villy family, which means Vickie, Johnny, and Katie. But can he do so?

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Amanda Sinclair Also Vulnerable

Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is attempting to escape a bad relationship. Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) just provided Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) with information that’s allowed the viewers to learn more about Amanda’s backstory.

So now that it’s known Amanda is also at a vulnerable point in her life, the write-together of her and Billy at that bar makes deeper sense. Y&R fans will soon learn whether a meaningful connection also develops as part of Billy’s midlife crisis and in consideration of the mental health issues he’s been trying to handle.
