The Young and the Restless spoilers document that in Los Angeles Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) is proclaiming his innocence, while also realizing that he needed to retain a lawyer. Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) is said to be the best attorney in town. While her skills seem sharp, she has no criminal experience and has only been in Genoa City, Wisconsin, for over a year. That could prove problematic down the line.

Billy no longer has his romantic sights set on the lady who’s turned out to be Hilary Hamilton’s (Mishael Morgan), identical twin sister. Instead, he’s worn Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) down, with this one-time couple slowly reforming.

But personal relationships are far from Billy’s (Jason Thompson) most pressing challenge. Instead, it’s become fair to wonder if Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has set Billy up?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – A Shot Rang Out In Broad Daylight

With whatever Adam’s plan was while he was on his way to the building where Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) had escaped from, the expected outcome changed. Adam was in front of Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) on the rooftop of the referenced building, possibly looking to make sure Chelsea wasn’t endangered.

Assume that Adam planned to be the victim of a failed shooting. That’s offered because he was in touch with some unknown accomplice by text. This was the person who was involved in planting a seemingly explosive device inside Newman Towers.

Adam called off that intended event, believing that he had gone too far. But his proposed other incident proceeded.

Y&R Spoilers – Chance Chancellor In The Wrong Place

It was bad timing when Chance located Adam, as part of the search for Chelsea. Boaz’ character believed she was kidnapped on Adam’s orders. The shot, that may have been fired by someone Grossman’s character hired, hit Chance when he pushed Adam out of the way.

Thankfully Chance made it through surgery, is experiencing a relatively quick recovery, and has been released from the hospital. Whether he was struck by someone who was trying to kill Adam is questionable.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott Was The Target?

Billy was the driving force behind the hit piece that Chance Com published. He paid Alyssa Montalvo (Maria DiDomenico) to gather the evidence on Adam and then bypassed Lily and Amanda to make sure the public read the scorching expose that proved to be totally on target.

Adam was motivated to hit back at Billy. Grossman’s character had the means, via his crafty mind and money, and opportunity to frame Billy.

Yes, it’s possible that one of a number of people could be the shooter, or paid someone to try and take Adam out, with Chance being accidentally shot. But revealing Adam in a plot where he faked his own attempted murder makes sense within this compelling storyline.

Adam’s request to leave town with Chelsea and his teased admission to Fairview also seems to hint that he’s trying to frame Billy. But more plot needs to play out before this speculation can be confirmed, or countered.
