When Billy decided to admit his downfall plan, Adam was stunned. Then, Billy decided to remind Adam of his insecurities. Adam was told that he would never be a real Newman. That despite his efforts to make Victor happy, he would always be second place. Billy kept bringing up everything that makes Adam insecure. It was clear from the look on Adam’s face that Billy struck a chord.

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal that Adam has already felt pushed aside by his father. It happened when Adam told Victor about Victoria and Ashland Locke’s (Richard Burgi) offer to Billy and Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Adam thought that Victor would react differently, though. Instead of being angry about the double-crossing, Victor justified Victoria and Ashland’s actions. ‘

During the week of January 10, Victoria will make Victor an offer. In the weekly preview clip, Victoria offers to buy Newman Media. Judging by the look on Victor’s face, he will probably give Victoria what she wants. When this happens, Victor could prove to Adam that Billy was right.

It seems as if Victor might seal Adam’s fate. Despite Adam’s best efforts, he could feel that he will never have the same value to Victor as Victoria. It could make Adam feel that his changed ways were pointless. Adam could go back to his old ways and Victor’s decision could feel like a betrayal.

The question is how far down will Adam go and what does this mean for his future? Perhaps this has something to do with spoilers for the week of January 17. It is teased that Victor takes action to protect his legacy. Does this have anything to do with Billy’s words and Victoria’s offer? Could Victor need to protect his legacy when Adam reverts to his old ways?
