The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott & Mackenzie Browning Have A Complicated History
Billy and Mackenzie, or “Mac” as she is nicknamed, met when they were teenagers. He, of course, is the son of Jill Foster Abbott (Jess Walton) and John Abbott (Jerry Douglas) and she is the granddaughter of the late Katherine Chancellor, (Jeanne Cooper). They actually grew up in the same house and although they fought a lot, and hung out with the same group of friends, they turned out to be prom king and prom queen at their junior prom, even though Billy had come with another girl.
When they danced they realized how much they cared for each other, but Jill was against their forming any type of romantic relationship and threatened to find Mac’s runaway mother, Amanda Browning (Denice Duff) if they didn’t cool it. Her father was Katherine’s son, Brock Reynolds (Beau Kayzer). So Mac and Billy started meeting in secret. He gave her an opal ring to seal their love.
Brittany Hodges, (Vanessa Evigan) the girl Billy had come with to the prom found out that Billy and Mac were involved and became jealous – and arranged for Mac to walk in on her and Billy, who she had drugged, in bed. Mac was hurt and broke up with Billy for the time being, but they eventually got back together again. Jack Abbott (currently Peter Bergman) knew the two of them belonged together and arranged for them to be trapped in an elevator together to help them realize it, and Jill eventually accepted it.

Billy and Mac fell deeply in love and had actually planned to marry – and were married, for about two minutes. Jill’s mother, Liz Foster (Julianna Foster) had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, and admitted to Jill that she was adopted and that a woman named Charlotte Ramsey (Elizabeth Harrower) who was a friend of John Abbott’s in high school, and later became a friend of Katherine’s had provided proof that Katherine was Jill’s birth mother.
Later, it was discovered by Jill that Katherine actually wasn’t her birth mother but that Charlotte was – but Katherine claimed that Charlotte had an abortion and through much arguing and dysfunction it was finally determined that Katherine wasn’t Jill’s birth mother, but not until after Katherine and Jill had burst in on Billy and Mac’s wedding and stopped it because they were blood cousins!
Jill had to break up with someone too, Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) because if Jill was Katherine’s daughter she’d been dating her half-brother! At that point, being given proof that they were too closely related to legally be married, they got an annulment, and both left town. Years later, Mac showed up at Billy’s wedding to Chloe Mitchell (Elizabeth Hendrickson) which was only for the sake of his daughter with her, Delia Abbott (Sophie Pollono) having a name, and Chloe caught them kissing!
This was after it was revealed that Katherine wasn’t Jill’s mother after all, and after having an affair for which Chloe divorced Billy, Billy and Mac were together for quite a while until Mac decided to have a baby for Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) and Cane Ashby (Daniel Goddard) and Billy got mad over Cane trying to take his baby girl away from him! They broke up, and Billy had a one night stand with a girl he met in a bar and Mac wanted to get back together until she found out about the girl in the bar but they remained good friends.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers – Billy Abbott And Mackenzie Browning Shared Something Very Deep
It was obvious that Billy and Mac shared something very deep, and it is said that one never really gets over their first love. Could Mac come back to Genoa City and recapture Billy’s heart and make him happy? Would Mac be able to keep him reigned in and put a stop to his self-destructive behavior because, down deep, it is driven by a huge Mac-shaped hole in his heart? Time will tell!
