The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Can New Writers Finally Bring Hunter King Back as Summer Newman?

The Young And The Restless spoilers reveal that new head writers are on the way and fans are excited. Hopefully this will bring more opportunities for some new stories and some actors returning to the show. Could Hunter King be returning to bring Summer Newman home?

Hunter King Played Summer Newman Before Alison Lanier

Hunter King was last seen in the role of Summer Newman in 2022, before Alison Lanier took over the role.

Lanier took over as a recast and held the role until 2025 when Summer moved out of Genoa City after her staff left her to handle Marchetti alone. Summer has never returned after Lanier’s exit from the show

Summer is mentioned a lot, especially since Phyllis Summers decided to join forces with Cane Ashby to take over the businesses in Genoa City.

Summer is very upset with her mother, especially once she took over Newman Enterprises. Summer cut ties with her mother because of her attack on her grandfather, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).

Who Might Play Summer Newman If She Returns?

If the show decides to bring back Summer, they could bring in someone else as a new recast. However, some fans would love to see King’s version return.

Kyle Newman (Michael Mealor) is going after her grandfather now and Summer could come home to protect Victor from him, even though Victor is the enemy in this situation.

Jamey Giddens and Dan O’Connor are taking over for Josh Griffith as the show’s co-head writers. New head writers could certainly promise King that Summer would be taken in a new direction if she returns to the role now that they have taken over.

The questions is if King would be interested in returning as Summer and giving the role another shot.

Fans Would Love Some Excitement And Some Recasts

Fans are certainly looking forward to some excitement now that new writers have taken over. The questions is if the writers are really ready to revamp some of the characters that have been missing for a while now.

Summer needs to return and weigh in on her mother’s relationship with Matt Clark (Roger Howarth). What will Summer have to say about this union?

Fans are certainly reason for Kyle and Summer to reunion, especially now that the writers are exploring the connection between Kyle and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle).

Will the writers bring back King and revisit their connection as Kyle and Summer?  Will we see Kyle and Summer finally reunite after all of this time?
