Victoria’s family, including her brother Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) have noticed a disturbing trend in their family member. Since taking her father’s place as CEO of Newman Enterprises, the power appears to have gone to her head, and she is becoming more and more her father’s daughter. Longtime viewers of The Young and The Restless will remember that Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was much more cutthroat in his younger years – as he has gotten older, he has placed much more importance on family.

Victoria has most notably inflicted a power play on her former sister-in-law Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford), one that Nikki had advised her against doing. Victoria did it anyway and took satisfaction and even glee in seeing Phyllis grovel to get her hotel back after Victoria bought it out from under her in a hostile takeover! Victoria didn’t even want The Grand Phoenix –she had planned to write it off as a loss and have it torn down!

Y&R spoilers show all Victoria was after in the deal was to make Phyllis grovel! Nick saw that and tried to get his girlfriend and his wife to make peace, but Victoria was having none of it. He finally bailed Phyllis out by buying out the debt she then had owed to Victoria! Victoria seems to crave more and more power and more and more control, like her father in his younger years!

Y&R Restless Spoilers – Nikki Newman Would Rather Not See Her Daughter Go Down The Paths That Her Father Did

Nikki remembers all the times Victor’s cutthroat, power tripping ways caused havoc in their family and in their lives; and she would rather that Victoria would not continue down that dark path! Nikki is up close to Victoria at work, they work together as CEO and co CEO. She is disturbed that her daughter has become power hungry and controlling.

Plus, more often than not she clings to her work as a control mechanism and Nikki can see that. Victoria is there many long hours, longer than necessary although she is making sure to make time for her children at least, and recently has even included Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) in their family outings.

Mom and Dad together with the children is not necessarily a bad thing, although Victor would prefer “Billy Boy” would keep his distance. However, the man does have a right to spend time with his children and they with him! Nikki really doesn’t want to have to resort to trickery just to get Victoria to spend some non-work time with her, but she might. She might have to plan a sit down with her daughter to talk things over as a business meeting!

Victoria is not only exhibiting signs of being a workaholic on The Young and the Restless, but becoming a very angry and forceful, controlling person. Victoria sorely needs more balance in her life – having fun and pampering herself as well as working all the time or being a mother to her children. She needs some Victoria time, and Nikki will do her best to try and steer her on the right path even if she has to trick her into it!
