The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane Is A Bone Marrow Match? Lily Desperately Seeks Help

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) didn’t find a quick or easy solution in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

He also didn’t realize what seemed like a reasonable fallback solution in Los Angeles, California. So, it’s time to go back home.

Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) hoped she could provide bone marrow to her father, but she wasn’t a match.

Then, the revelation about Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) happened, and he wanted to help his realized father and couldn’t.

So, it seemed possible that either of Lily’s and Cane Ashby’s (Billy Flynn) twins would be part of the solution.

Ideally, Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) or Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) could have helped their grandfather and returned to the show. However, both positive outcomes seem dashed.

Malcolm Winters Has Time To Fight

Stephanie Simmons (Vivica A. Fox) met with Malcom, who sought her out. That happened off-screen, where both characters have been living.

Fox’s character hadn’t been seen on Y&R in thirty years. Moore made various recurring appearances since ending his regular player stint in 2005, with Malcolm last being seen in 2023.

Thankfully, Malcolm’s condition was caught in the early stages. That gives him time to fight. But he needs a willing dance partner who can donate bone marrow that will help to address his aplastic anemia diagnosis.

Lily Winters Knows How Holden Novak Feels

The storyline where Lily learned that Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) wasn’t her biological father was memorable.

During one of Y&R’s golden eras, Moore, St. John, and Victoria Rowell (Drucilla Winters) were major parts of the show.

Drucilla had no idea that Malcolm had relations with her because she had taken a high dosage of cold medicine and was out of it.

Malcolm explained his actions to her and Neil as a misinterpretation of Drucilla’s desires, which was understandably seen as a weak excuse by Drucilla and Neil.

Lily was the most impacted, with that shock creating sadness for her and Neil. Their bond was so strong and, as Khalil’s character told Holden, she still thinks of him as her father to this day.

That part of this tale also makes her the perfect emotional guide for Holden as he navigates his reaction to Stephanie withholding this crucial information from him and Malcolm.

Cane Ashby Ready To Help

Cane needed something, and this soapy scenario is probably it. Imagine if he tests as a match for Malcom?

The above outcome would surely create an unforeseen opening where Cane could prove his family loyalty and love. Donating bone marrow to his father-in-law would certainly alter Malcolm’s perception of him.

Of course, Lily, Devon Winters (Bryton James), Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic), the twins, and others would probably suspect Cane was playing hero purposely.

But at least Lily’s heart would surely begin to thaw. Alternatively, if Cane isn’t a match, he will use whatever resources he has to find that donor match because he loves Lily and her family, with Holden being part of that extended group.
