If Phyllis’ Mouth Was Moving, She Was Lying!
Fans of Y&R will remember that Phyllis consistently lied after she took the AI program and gave it to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden).
For a long time, Phyllis pretended to be innocent instead of being truthful with Cane, who had asked for honesty, leading him to promise revenge. However, much has changed since that time-or at least it appears that way!
Given Y&R’s tendency for plots involving secret manipulation, could Cane still be harboring vengeful intentions towards Phyllis? After all, it was quite strange to see Cane suddenly switch gears and fully commit to Phyllis as a partner.
There Are Good Reasons To Doubt Cane’s Turnaround
There are valid reasons to doubt Cane’s change in attitude. One moment, Cane was shouting at Phyllis to keep her distance, and the next, he was revealing a secret AI program element that could wreak havoc at Newman Enterprises.

It’s true that Cane was distressed over Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) leaving and his children officially severing ties with him. However, part of Cane might hold Phyllis accountable since she encouraged his Aristotle Dumas persona.
Additionally, Lily saw another kiss exchanged between Cane and Phyllis before her New Year’s Eve visit.
Lily Pushed Cane Away Again, And Again Left Genoa City
Even though Lily later got caught up in a kiss with Cane herself, it wasn’t sufficient to prevent her from pushing him away again and declaring her departure from Genoa City.
It’s possible that Cane blames Phyllis, at least in part, for continually creating chaos and undermining his progress with Lily. If that’s true, Phyllis may have unwittingly stepped into a significant revenge trap.

Phyllis is finally achieving what she has long pursued, which is a substantial victory along with bragging rights.
We’re hearing her assert that this is what she has desired for so long, but what if Cane is just going to snatch it away in the end, leaving her to face a devastating setback?
Phyllis Was Even Surprised About Cane’s Decision-Should She Be Worried?
Phyllis looked surprised that Cane included her in his plan since he didn’t have to; she hasn’t signed anything guaranteeing her wishes like Cane claims. We can picture Cane letting Phyllis settle into the CEO role at Newman, then revealing it was never hers.
He might even bar her from the building, showing that this is the revenge he wanted-Phyllis could go from winning to losing in an instant!
Something feels off about their partnership now; should Phyllis be cautious? The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Cane might have shocking news soon, so stay tuned to see if bad news is on the way for Phyllis.
