The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Cane’s Chancellor Takeover Goals – Doing It All For Jill?

The Young and the Restless spoilers note the cat is out of the bag! Cane Ashby has officially returned to CBS, and he’s also the mysterious mogul that everyone has been talking about lately, Aristotle Dumas.

Actor Billy Flynn finally debuted on the daytime drama during the week of June 16-20 as the recast, so now, as everyone reels in the aftermath, one question remains: Why has he targeted Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Chancellor?

Cane Ashby Is Close With Jill Abbott

The Young and the Restless spoilers remind fans that Cane was (and quite possibly still could be) close with Jill Abbott (Jess Walton). In fact, there was a moment in time when she believed he was her son, Philip Chancellor (Thom Bierdz).

That ended up being a lie, but despite this, Jill bonded with Cane and acted as a mother figure in his life.

She grew very close to his children, Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) and Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson), as well as Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). In many ways, she acted as a mother-in-law to Lily and grandmother to Charlie and Mattie.

Cane Wants Chancellor To Return To ‘Family’

While Cane has been “rivals” with Victor (under his Aristotle Dumas alias) for years now, this might have been a friendly competition in Ashby’s mind. After all, he may have taken pleasure in the idea of going toe-to-toe with the great Victor Newman.

With that said, once Victor snagged Chancellor away from Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) by manipulating Jill, this became personal.

It’s interesting that among the GC elite who were invited to Dumas’s home in France, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) was one of them. Technically, Chance is an “elite” because of his last name, but he doesn’t exactly live this sort of lifestyle!

Still, could the reason behind Cane’s big party center around his Chancellor takeover, as well as “revealing” himself to his Genoa City friends?

As Chance once worked for Chancellor, will Cane hope that the cop will turn in his badge once more and help Billy and himself run the company?
