Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) is upset that his father interfered in the aftermath of Ashland’s death. Morrow’s character pushed Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) to contact the Genoa City Police Department after Ashland accidentally died because of the Newman family’s bad experiences when trying to undermine the rule of law.
Devoted Y&R fans are not surprised Nick was drawn into further family drama. His decision to return to Newman Enterprises was a clear foreshadowing.

Nick had no truly compelling reason to buy new business clothes. He likely donated his wardrobe to New Hope in the recent past after seeming to be done with the corporate world forever.
But The Young and the Restless fans saw Nick’s talks with Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) as reentry points. His longtime confidant, the arguable love of his life, supported Nick’s decision to make a positive impact. How has that worked out so far?

TPTB wrote Nick away from the roller coaster ride that is Victor’s business theme park years ago. Except for a few moments, where Nick served in a somewhat consultant role, he had no desire to return to that dysfunctional world. Whether Nick’s conscience gets the best of him remains to be seen.

Victoria is shaken by Ashland’s death. But she has no visible compassion for how he died.
As has been true of some of Victoria’s other romantic attachments, Ashland went berserk. His demented state of mind reflected a job share between him and Victor’s refusal to allow Ashland to see Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) before a planned departure from GC.
Victoria’s decision to strip Ashland of the remaining wealth he obtained when agreeing to leave the then-Newman Locke corporation was justified payback in her opinion. That plan implies that Victoria will not divulge anything to Chance.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Protects His Own
Ironically, Victor may be the one who eventually bows. It will become plausible for Victor to spill if the Moustache determines that his son-in-law has proof that will cause Nick, Victoria, or possibly, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to face legal peril.
Along with the above, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) has offered his services to Chance. That development indicates that Adam will help to break one of more members of the family where he is the eternal outsider.
