Chance’s choice could be cited as noble. He felt a call to duty. But he was the only person on planet earth who could have led the effort in Spain?

Now, with Chance’s recovery not going as hoped, Abby is worse for wear. Ordway’s character was written through to great maturity in the last year, with the Heiress era put to bed. Today’s Abby has borne the weight of her family’s stress and can not rest yet, as Chance just decided to seek help.

Y&R Spoilers – Many Could Have Done More

It is fair to question why TPTB did not have Abby pushing Chance harder toward therapy. Abby only recently stressed the need for treatment, with Devon recognizing that issue many weeks ago.

Writing Nina Webster (Tricia Cast) out of town was unbelievable. Chance’s mother was gone when he was thought dead and then did not return to town to help him? That plot device helped to stretch Chance’s slide.

Among others, Chance’s overlords at the Agency receive failing marks for not having a protocol in place or not following it after Floyd’s character returned home. An in-person assessment of his mental state was not conducted. Really?

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Explores His Future

The past is haunting Chance. He feels powerless in the present. But the future is what must be explored.

Hopefully, Dr. Huffman (Jeremiah Jahi) will help Chance confront repetitive thoughts and the guilt he feels for the deaths of his team members. And Chance’s doubts about being a good husband are outweighed by his lack of confidence in developing paternal skills.

Abby and Chance shared an optimistic view of their family’s future before Spain happened. Now, with Dom in their lives, Chance must commit to recovery so he can be a responsible father and husband.
