The Young and The Restless spoilers and updates tease that Chance Chancellor’s (Conner Floyd) damning evidence he arrested Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) for could have been forged.
The poison plot could backfire on Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) badly if further investigation proves Diane didn’t buy the bottle of strychnine found in Stark’s hotel room.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chance Chancellor Arrests Diane Jenkins
Chance came and arrested Diane in the most inappropriate place at the most inappropriate time, at Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) memorial service.
The blood that EMT Carson (Walter Belenky) said he took prior to the ambulance crash was in a container of a certain type, and Chance confirmed it went to forensics.
That proved Phyllis died from poisoning by strychnine, and Chance got a call while he and Diane were there that the bottle he found in Stark’s room was purchased by Diane.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) objected, and objected strongly to Chance’s calling in backup to escort Diane to the GCPD. Diane, in the meanwhile, couldn’t believe it when she asked Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) for help and he told her to hire a lawyer.
Y & R Spoilers – Did Someone Commit Credit Card Fraud, Or Was It By Cash?
More than likely the reason that the purchase was traced so easily is that someone committed credit card fraud with one of Diane’s accounts-that puts the bulls eye on Jeremy.
Otherwise, there would be hours of canvassing and getting security footage in order to find out where the poison was purchased and if possible, a photo.
Unless Phyllis lifted one of Diane’s credit cards when she engaged in the catfight, which she wouldn’t have had a chance to, it had to be a number Jeremy had. Since Diane was a money mule for Jeremy in the past, he quite likely has all of her credit card and account numbers.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Poison Plot Could Backfire
The poison plot could backfire if someone sees Phyllis around town in her disguise and recognizes her, because she’s definitely out of Jeremy’s game.
Not only would Diane be automatically exonerated for murder-although perhaps attempted murder would stick-Phyllis could be arrested for fraud, and Jeremy might skip town by that time.
The plot could backfire as well if Diane has an alibi for the time that the purchase was made, with a credit card or bank card that should be traceable.
Worse yet, since Jeremy had an EMT and ambulance driver in his pocket, could he have someone in the GCPD taking bribes as well? If so, the information given to Chance might be bogus and just another part of the frame!
