It turns out Lily Winters’ (Christel Khalil) feelings about Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan) may be justified. She has not liked watching Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) spend so much time with this woman but tried to accept that their podcast was just professional like everyone said. Billy at least wanted it to be professional and didn’t expect much else.

Well, Chelsea is once again at a crossroads in her life trying to think about what could have been. Despite conceiving Johnny Abbott under circumstances that many consider to be rape, Chelsea has always had a fondness for Billy despite tricking him into sleeping with him and taking advantage of him when he was not in his right mind. She wonders if she and Billy could have been a couple, especially with how well they get along now.

Y&R Spoilers – Billy Abbott Surprises Chelsea Newman…So She Surprises Him

Chelsea has not been happy that Billy is going to listen to Lily and stop doing their podcast together. However, Billy offers Chelsea an opportunity to do her own podcast. Chelsea is shocked and then turns it down because she doesn’t feel she is ready to do this without Billy by her side. Perhaps Chelsea has just been doing this because she likes Billy and not because she enjoys hosting a podcast so much.

So, the pair go back to talking about their last episode and what they might do as a send-off. Then, things get so friendly that Chelsea impulsively kisses Billy and he immediately pulls away.

“It’s so inappropriate,” Melissa Claire Egan said in the August 30, 2022, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “He very quickly stops the kiss, so she’s mortified. She doesn’t know if she’ll ever be able to face him again.”
