The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Chelsea Lawson’s (Melissa Claire Egan) intention of telling Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) the truth about Baltimore, Maryland, was dashed.

However, storyline currents appear likely to push Chelsea to deliver on her better instincts. Keeping this secret from Billy will almost certainly end their relationship. One way to salvage what they’ve managed to build is to tell him that she and Adam had a moment in Maryland.

Billy has increasingly told Chelsea he will hear whatever burden she has been carrying. His sincerity is genuine because he does not want her mind to be taxed based on her recent mental health issues that he was instrumental in helping to recognize and turn around.

Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) and Chelsea were married twice. After the second divorce, she appeared to realize that their relationship was not only irreparable but also dysfunctional.

Devoted fans recall that Chelsea and Adam got back together in recent years, but they did not marry. At one point in a memorable storyline, Chelsea became paralyzed. During that period, she came to believe Adam was trying to torture her through Sharon Newman (Sharon Case).

Chelsea retaliated by framing Adam for the attempted murder of Sharon’s then-husband, Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). That resulted in a mental health treatment stay and the end of that Chadam reboot edition.

Adam convinced Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) that losing their expected daughter, Ava, changed him. While that loss deeply affected Grossman’s character, it has not caused him to evolve.

Adam believes that justifying the means with lying ends lacks respect for others. He is insecure about his revived relationship with Sally and feels he can not explain to her what happened in Baltimore. He assumes she is also immature and cannot handle that information.

So, Adam refuses to allow Sally to make decisions about matters that impact her life. That is precisely what he did when quitting Newman Media and claiming he never loved her. That lie was based on being caught in a loop of self-pity.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Chelsea Lawson Has A Chance

In contrast to Adam, Chelsea does know what is right. She also has to balance Adam’s penchant for jumping to irrational conclusions, which then affects their son, Connor Newman (Judah Mackey), who has just begun learning how to deal with his OCD diagnosis.

If Chelsea were being truthful, she could not entirely blame Adam for influencing her mind. Instead, she needs to take responsibility for herself. That happens as soon as she tells Billy the entire story.

If Billy learns in some way other than through Chelsea, their relationship is likely over.
