To say that Adam and Chelsea have a dysfunctional relationship would be more truthful than harsh. The question is whether they are actually better off apart?

Adam endured his own mental health collapse after learning that he’d killed a man in Kansas during his childhood. That retrospective storyline was very revealing and led to Adam’s irrational desire to eliminate his father and other family members from the earth.

However, Chelsea thankfully learned what Adam was plotting and interrupted his plan. He retaliated by having her kidnapped, which included a blow to the back of Chelsea’s head. That event was followed by a debilitating stroke, which is the cause of Adam’s deep guilt and drive to be a better person.

Adam and Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) weren’t having an affair and didn’t cavort upstairs while Chelsea was immobilized in her wheelchair. But it was understandable that Chelsea had those thoughts.

Sharon’s complicity in Adam’s decision to have her serve as Chelsea’s provocateur therapist was a violation of professional ethics. Playing into Adam’s compassion-less behavior, Sharon provoked Chelsea and that pushed her over the edge.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Victor Newman Makes This Call

As long as Chelsea is in the medical facility Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), not her doctor, will be directing so-called progress. He believes that Adam’s mental stability is contingent on not revisiting Chadam.

Victor’s take actually leaves Chelsea with one of two options. Stay where she is indefinitely or agree to be released, with the likely need to leave Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Chelsea will not accept those terms. So, she is primed to risk her freedom in order to gain it and also reunite with her son.
