The Young and the Restless spoilers document that in Genoa City, Wisconsin Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) appears to be framed in the poisoning of Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). Chelsea Lawson (Melissa Claire Egan), who Adam has been caring for during her assumed, continuing period of paralysis and speech loss, is seemingly setting him up.

Adam hasn’t been loyal to his supposed love, as the viral photo of him kissing Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case) at Society reinforced. However, Chelsea’s confinement to the penthouse and the exaggerated conversations she’s been having with herself for months have created a warped view of reality.

Faith Newman (Alyvia Alyn Lind) had no idea that Adam saved her life or that he was responsible for her mother receiving proper psychological care. Without Adam, Faith could have died. And there’s no way to know what would have become of Sharon during the dark period when the bipolar disorder took hold.

Despite Rey’s pleas, Sharon believed she could keep herself in check. That proved mostly true. But she didn’t fully consider that impact Shadam’s seeming reconnect would have on Rey and Chelsea, with the life-threatening consequences that followed.

There’s no way to know when Adam is being sincere, as his many agendas have often trampled upon the lives of others. The periods when he pulls himself back from whatever dastardly deeds he’s committed are too brief. Plus he hasn’t produced a sustained period of credibility in Genoa City, Wisconsin, since Justin Hartley (Adam) embodied this character.

Grossman’s work as the reversed SORAS’d (soap opera rapid aging syndrome) Adam has been stellar. The scripts he’s been given have written this iconic character back to the Michael Muhney (Adam) heydays. It was during that time in show history that Shadam first connected and was married.

The result of many years of treachery have created intense feelings among all who are connected to Adam. So, while Chelsea’s intent to play cutthroat with him is wrong, her motivation is understandable.

Adam has a monstrous temper. He firmly believed that Chelsea loved him and she does in her own way. But Egan’s character has also decided that they are done. She believes the only way to safely get away from Adam is to deal with him as he has dealt with her and many others through the years.

Of course both people have put Connor Newman (Judah Mackey) out of sight and therefore out of mind in a boarding school in recent months. His absence has enabled Chadam to go off the cliff.

Connor was a driving reason why Chelsea and Adam revived. Neither person is behaving like a responsible adult or parent. Now, Chelsea’s tread onto dangerous ground could lead to both people destroying each other and therefore their family, which is sad.
