The Young And The Restless Spoilers: Claire Still Wants Kyle – Holden Is Just A Distraction

The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) was visibly shaken when Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) said that their time was over.

The scene took place after Holden Novak (Nathan Owens) appeared for a pre-planned lunch date with Claire.

Holden is an intriguing character whose backstory draws Claire to him. But her heart remains with Kyle. She broke their relationship in the fall and jetted to Los Angeles, California, with Holden.

That setting change opened the daytime door to Matt Clark’s (Roger Howarth) return to the show. But it also advanced Claire’s connection with Holden beyond flirtatious friendship.

Don’t Forget About Audra Cortes

Holden decided to tell Claire something. As viewers know and she suspects, his backstory details were only partially complete.

Claire heard that Holden and Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) met at The Shadow Room when she was trying to work a guy over. She didn’t expect that stealing a massive check from him would result in his accidental death at Holden’s hands, but that’s what happened.

Charles isn’t Audra’s real last name. Instead, it’s one she assumed after fleeing the United States as part of an attempt to avoid legal repercussions and possibly, physical retribution. However, Holden didn’t tell Claire about the death, and that will surely prove to be a problem.

Kyle Abbott Is Tired Of The Chase

Kyle has far more experience with relationships than Claire. She’s a novice because of her childhood and early adult years spent under Jordan Howard’s (Colleen Zenk) control.

So, he was okay with Claire wanting a separation after having a chance to process her demand for headspace. Kyle didn’t anticipate trailing her to LA, spending part of Thanksgiving together, and their agreement to expose Audra to not create a reunion.

He’s tired of chasing her and said as much outside Society after Holden arrived to meet her. The pained look in Claire’s eyes was proof that she doesn’t want a full break from Kyle. Yet, she’s not able to fix their issues at this point, and Holden still offers a fallback option.

Claire Newman Needs A Moment Of Clarity

It would seem that Kyle and Claire’s decision to go after their mutual enemy, Audra, will flesh out the entire LA backstory. When that happens, and however it does, Holden will be exposed as untrustworthy.

Kyle has always projected as someone who will look good when other options, even going beyond Holden, are compared. That time is probably coming soon next year.

Claire’s moment of clarity will arrive when she and Kyle either discover Audra’s lies, Silver’s character creates an unforced error, or Holden releases that shielded information as a choice of last resort.

By that point in the plot, Harrison Abbott (Redding Munsell) will have a recreated family structure with Claire projecting as his new stepmother.
