The Young and The Restless spoilers tease that Daniel Goddard’s last airdate will be Tuesday, November 26 as Cane Ashby faces the music! Goddard has been in the role for 13 years.

I am as shocked and gutted as you are… I almost didn’t post but I felt that the most loyal & loving fans an actor could wish for deserved to know and watch the last story arc knowing the rich meaning behind it. I am forever grateful for the 13 years I have been a part of the Y&R family… but sadly it seems that without Neil and Lily there just is no Cane.”
The Character Of Cane Ashby Was Cast As The Son Of Colin And Genevieve Atkinson
Daniel was cast as Cane Ashby, the son of Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) and Genevieve Atkinson (Genie Francis). He also played his twin, Caleb Atkinson, who was accidentally shot being confused for Cane and died. and a sister, Samantha Atkinson (Selena McDonald). Caleb Atkinson murdered Samantha. Jill Abbott (Jess Walton) became Cane’s stepmother, when she married Colin Atkinson, although she was once thought to have been his natural mother thanks to a DNA kerfuffle.
However, the two of them bonded like a real mother and son, and Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper) also became fond of him, obviously, since it would appear that she actually left the bulk of her estate to him, as opposed to her grandson Devon Hamilton (Bryton James).
How Will Cane Ashby Leave The Y & R Canvas?
Current storylines have Jill tracking down Colin to a resort in The Maldives, where Colin admitted that he was the one who was behind the whole challenge to Katherine’s will, telling Jill he was merely righting a wrong, and that Tucker McCall (Stephen Nichols) and Attorney David Sherman (Robert Gant) had been involved in a fraud concerning the will, just like was originally stated in the will challenge paperwork. He also told her that his American accent was “bloody good” so Colin, in all probability, is the individual that Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) referred to as “an old jerk!”

Devon will corner Cane when it is found that the money is missing; Colin won’t say where it is, so it sounds like he somehow got the money out of Cane’s hands. Little does Colin know that Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) is on the way to The Maldives hot on his trail, but in either case, it looks like the cocky con man will be caught, and that he may have framed his own son and Cane will take a hit as well!

No, no offense to Daniel Goddard but the writers haven’t really given Cane or Lilly very good stories for some time. I think both actors worked hard with what they were given but both deserve better. I hope the future will bring both actors better things. If Y&R writers can produce a good story for them in the future I would be happy to see them again.
Nope. Goddard is correct. Without Neil and Lily there is no storyline for Cane. Hopefully we can see the last of Colin also.
I’m going to miss him, I would have preferred him with Victoria, rather then that spoiled hypocrite brat Billy. I’m sure Victoria would have changed Cane to a better man. I really thought they were going to go somewhere with them, but i guess most fans would rather see Victoria with Billy, Lord knows why.
