The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Devon Hamilton (Bryton James) does not want to accept his sister’s offer. Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) was excited when telling him about her idea that could allow the merger idea to proceed and appeared to meet Devon’s goals.

But Devon rejected Lily’s idea to allow Chancellor-Winters to buy him out after the initial public stock offering happened. He is not interested in the money part of Lily’s equation, which makes sense considering the vast wealth he inherited from his father’s (Tucker McCall) mother, Katherine Chancellor (Jeanne Cooper).
Devon also rejects Lily’s suggestion that he could build a renewed Hamilton-Winters from the ground up. So, a seemingly needless family battle is ahead in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Traits Of Grandmother And Father Evident
Devon may not realize it, but he is exhibiting the personality traits of his grandmother and father. His refusal to consider the deal Lily created does not make much business sense because it was based on his deeply held emotions.
Katherine had a notorious stubborn streak. Tucker has treated people terribly through the years, focusing on what he wants from them rather than being open. Devon is stubborn and while he has not consistently treated people horribly, some, including Lily, have experienced his harsher side.

Devon’s trepidation about CW offering stock to the public to yield revenue could be proven right. However, dismissing his sister’s proposal out of hand, even after Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) spoke with him about the merits of that option, reinforces the head space Devon currently occupies.
Y&R Spoilers – Lily Winters Wants Unity, Not Break
Lily spotted Billy Abbott’s (Jason Thompson) veer away from her months ago. Thompson’s character did not recognize her insight because Lily’s senses are more finely tuned.
Similarly, Devon did not believe he and Lily were going to battle when Jill Abbott Atkinson’s (Jess Walton) merger plan was presented. Lily’s personality allows her to take more measured risks, with credit going to the positive influence Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John) had on her.

Drucilla Winters (Victoria Rowell) taught her daughter the value of family unity, especially following the shock-reveal that Malcolm Winters (Shemar Moore) was Lily’s biological father. Khalil wants and needs to keep her family together, but Devon has a different point of view.

Devon told Lily that he did not want to go to court. However, Jill’s refusal to allow him to buy back Hamilton-Winters leaves him with no perceived choice.
There is no way to determine how any legal proceeding could go. But in the short-term, CW is hamstrung and is in limbo, and Lily and Devon are at odds on Y&R.
