The long game Diane is playing is not fully far-fetched. Jack is Kyle Abbott’s (Michael Mealor) father. So, there is an undeniable romantic connection between Jack and Diane, though it is historical.

The second step in Diane’s plan was to reconnect with Kyle. She anticipated him being angry and centering on the abandonment aspect of what she did all those soapy years ago on Y&R.

But Kyle has quickly come to see his mother’s point of view. He accepted that she was not mentally stable when choosing to leave him behind and play dead.

Y&R Spoilers – Harrison Locke Is Part Of The Process

Just as Kyle is Diane’s only known child, Harrison Locke (Kellen Enriquez) is her only known grandchild. Her love for Kyle is something he understands because of the parental bond he has with Harrison.

The recent breakthroughs Diane made could have been short-lived or significantly reduced if Kyle and Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) returned to Milan with Harrison. But Summer’s Marchetti plan appears to be the plot vehicle that will enable her, Kyle, and Harrison to remain in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

Kyle wants to rebuild a relationship with his mother. He also would prefer if she is part of Harrison and Summer’s lives.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Thrown Off-Balance

Phyllis had Diane’s number in the past. She has it again but is allowing herself to be thrown off-balance by Diane’s intentional games.

Jack loves Phyllis, not Diane. Diane believes that Jack can be persuaded to leave Phyllis. So the plan is to make Phyllis work against herself.

Diane earned her bad reputation by committing many terrible acts. She knows that the second chance she is seeking must be handled differently. So far, she is doing well with everyone but Phyllis, who could still prove to be her Achilles’ heel.
