Ashley Abbott’s (Eileen Davidson) trip to Paris is cut short and she returns home to her family abode only to see Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters there looking very much like the lady of the manor. Ashley would like to think that Diane is just there for a quick visit but that is not meant to be. Instead, she gets news she very much did not want to hear.

While Jack Abbott meant to mention to his sister that he asked Diane to move in because they are officially a couple now, he didn’t quite get around to it. So, when she hears this information from Diane, she is stunned and lets Jack know exactly what she thinks of this turn of events. Needless to say, Ashley is not happy at all. This puts Jack on the defensive and things get ugly. What Will Ashley Do Now?

“She refuses to see Jack’s side of this thing with Diane and is unable to allow for the possibility that Diane has changed,” Peter Bergman said in the February 20, 2023, issue of Soap Opera Digest. “Ashley and Jack have had their share of quarrels but what she does time and again is push Jack into the direction she doesn’t want him to go.

“Jack starts telling Ashley how things work in this family and that drives her nuts. She then tells Jack that she’s embarrassed for him and that really ticks him off.”

When things get too heated between them, Jack actually tells Ashley to find a new place to live and she can’t believe her ears. This is her home. It is their home, their family home, and she should not have to go anyplace. Jack then stuns Ashley by offering to buy her share of the house they inherited from their father.
