The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) is in jail. Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) likes that. Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) wanted that mission accomplished and was happy to see his former money laundering mule get what he considered to be her just rewards. But Jeremy is no longer happy because, as viewers learn, Phyllis kills him in self-defense.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – What Led To All This Action?
A lot has happened since Diane revealed herself as never being killed by Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). That was an act of self-defense as well.
Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) learned about his oldest son’s (Keemo Volien Abbott Nguyen) death and met his unknown granddaughter, Allie Nguyen (Kelsey Wang), at that point in the plot. But Jack was stunned to see Diane reappear in his life.
Digitally skipping to the current day, Phyllis’ lure of Jeremy to Genoa City, Wisconsin, eventually resulted in her conspiring with him to frame Diane. They did so in a way that borrowed from the way Diane left GC years ago but added a hard twist.
Phyllis instantly regretted faking her murder and quickly faced Jeremy’s refusal to allow her to reconsider. She warned him not to push her. He did, and Jeremy met his soapy fate in a remote motel’s bathroom.
Y&R Spoilers – Diane Jenkins Humiliating Arrest
Jeremy and Phyllis orchestrated an elaborate hoax that included Phyllis appearing to collapse at the bicentennial gala because of poison. The guests, including her children, did not initially know what happened to Stafford’s character, who was rushed to the hospital.
The above led to Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) believing Jeremy killed Phyllis and was trying to frame Diane for it. His logic should prove problematic for Red when she reveals her still-alive status.
The goal of arresting Diane and having her face public humiliation at the seeming wake for Phyllis was a bonus. Kudos to the writing staff and the ever-outstanding Stafford in those scenes that included Phyllis disguised in the room.
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Phyllis Summers Able To Escape Punishment?
The ambulance aspect of this storyline is a bit of a stretch, with various characters questioning its authenticity. However, Phyllis’ life-preserving actions against Jeremy provide wiggle room.
Phyllis told Jeremy that her kids would forgive her faking the murder. But Jeremy’s sudden demise eliminates her conspirator.
There were other people involved, any of whom could blackmail Phyllis for more someday. In the meantime, she intends to reclaim her life. Whether she can escape punishment will be seen on Y&R.
