Michelle made headlines when she made the switch from General Hospital to The Young and the Restless to play Phyllis Summers back in 2019.

She took over after actress Gina Tognoni was fired from the show. While it’s been said that Gina was left absolutely blindsided by the move, some believe that Michelle had something to do with it, even though those rumors have been confirmed.

Either way, the rumored fallout between the two women might be one of the reasons why Gina decided to never come back to The Young and the Restless or any other daytime television soap for that matter.

Michelle’s General Hospital role as Nina Reeves was given to Cynthia Watros. Yet, there are some fans out there who think Gina should come back to Port Charles.

That, or she should have been given the role as Carly Corinthos soon after Tamara Braun left GH.

That would have been wild, right? If she can’t play Carly (Laura Wright’s role), then some think that she should be introduced as a brand new character.

And while it’s certainly several years since we’ve last seen Gina on the canvas, the actress has not made any comments about whether or not she would be interested in returning to daytime television.

That said, a lot of soap fans would love to see her back on their small screens simply because she brought a certain vibrancy to Phyllis that seems to have been missing ever since.

You can’t blame fans for wanting to bring back a good thing.

So far Michelle Stafford herself has not made any comments about the rumors just yet, too. Watch this space as we have a feeling there is so much more to come.
