Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor (Melissa Ordway) met her soul mate and married, which represents a watershed moment for a character who hasn’t been lucky in love through the years. And then there’s Lily Winters (Christel Khalil), whose departed parents surely are proud of as they look down from heaven.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Great Madame Mergeron
Adams has earned more than the right to submit her work as part of a group of fine candidates who will vie for the Daytime Emmy award in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama category next summer. She arguably deserves the coming award.
Dina’s Alzheimer’s arc lasted for a number of years and served to remind longtime viewers how great daytime can be when a topical subject, great behind the scenes and on-screen efforts combine.
Adams’ final scene, where she spoke to her family was transcendent. It allowed the Abbott’s to have closure, Dina to walk away with John Abbott (Jerry Douglas), and this terrific actor to cap her career in daytime with grace. However, as the actor said in a farewell social media message, she’s hoping that Y&R writes Dina back as a ghost. Her proposal is splendid and hopefully is accepted.
Y&R Spoilers – Completing A Name Change
Abby decided to honor both sides of her family and recognize her new husband by creating the married name Abby Newman Abbott Chancellor. Fans know the other reason she has three last names is that the milestone twelve-thousandth episode of Y&R focused on the historical importance of its various legacy families and characters.
Chance Chancellor (Donny Boaz) became a temporarily recast character, as Justin Gaston (Chance) filled in. That was the perfect fit, as Ordway and her real life husband had a unique opportunity that was created by circumstances the world hopefully never sees again. Their work was enjoyable, added an extra touch to the storyline, and helped to push Abby’s 2020 tale to the top.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Lily Winters Is Back
Khalil, like many enduring daytime actors, has taken a handful of breaks from the show through the years. Her return to regular contract status this year was welcomed and also allowed her on-screen persona to shine once more.
Lily became the voice of wisdom at Chance Com, as Jill Abbott Atkinson (Jess Walton) hoped. Khalil’s character also played a true hero in locating evidence that helped to set her newest love, Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), free. Yes, Lily had some great moments this year on Y&R.
