Chelsea has been through a lot this year. The trudge from last spring, when Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) was killed in a car accident, to the Grand Phoenix rooftop was arduous.
She recognizes Billy’s psyche was impacted in rescuing her on that almost fateful night. Chelsea sees Billy’s protective response is in reaction to the trauma they shared.
It could be that Billy is advancing to his next vocation. His experience in overcoming Delia Abbott’s (Sophie Pollono) tragic loss, in working through his personality split that happened a few years ago, and breaking the dysfunctional relationship pattern with Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) produced could mean he pursues a career in counseling.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Adam Newman And Sally Spectra Bust?
Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) is not in love with Chelsea. He has convinced himself that Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) is the next great pursuit of his life.
If, as teased, Sally does not go beyond their GP suite meet, then Adam will remain single. His recent hug of Chelsea implied that he still cares about her well-being.
Chelsea did not allow the hug to linger, indicating that she does not want to allow herself to revert to a pattern of entwining with Adam. But Grossman’s character has persuaded her to couple multiple times on Y&R.
