Fans were thrilled to see one of their favorite characters, Paul Williams, back on screen last March 2019. Before his return, its portrayer, Doug Davidson, went on a long hiatus, which has a lot of fans worried that he might be gone for good. So, fans were really excited when he returned.

However, after his comeback, Paul rarely appeared on screen. Even the actor, Davidson, admitted that he missed being on the show. Fortunately, he never forgets to stay in touch with his fans. He keeps them updated as to when he’ll be back.

Davidson shared on Instagram, “Paul sighting update! The latest information I have is Paul will be seen the 23rd with Chance and the 24th with Lauralee Bell (Christine), Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren), and Christian LeBlanc (Michael)! We had a blast!”

Back in February, it’s been revealed that he’ll be returning to the sudser. When that happened, the actor was quick to express his gratitude for all the support he’s received from his fans.

“Okay! So, the cat is out of the bag. None of any of this would happen without all of your undying loyalty, support, and kindness. All of you are the reason Paul is back on the canvas.”

He also made a special mention of Eric Braeden and shared how good he’s been to him. “Thank you so much. Eric Braeden (Victor) has been incredible the entire time. A huge thanks to him as well!”

Y&R Spoilers – Doug Davidson’s Career

Davidson is an American television actor who is known for his role as Paul Williams on “The Young and the Restless,” which he’s been playing since 1978. He is considered to be the longest-serving cast member of the series.

In 1994, he started to host the game show “The New Price Is Right.” Unfortunately, the show lasted only four and a half months. He auditioned for Bob Barker’s replacement on “The Price is Right.” But the spot was eventually awarded to Drew Carey. He hosted “The Price Is Right Live” and the annual “Tournament of Roses Parade.”

Davidson has received numerous accolades for his role in “The Young and the Restless.” He won Soap Opera Digest Awards in 1990, 1991, 1992, and 1997. In 2013, he won a Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

    We don’t see him very often since he ” came back ” to the show , can’t they come up with a good story line for him , that is a shame . He is one of the ” normal ” characters on the show ! One of my favs Chance . Rey and he should work together on something – other than Abby’s security problems ….

    I am so tired of the new generation taking over Y&R. I would like to see more of Paul and the rest of our generation on screen. I hope the writers realize that we are the ones that are loyal to this show, not the new kids.
