As a matter of fact, the beautiful blonde actress has made it pretty clear that she would return to her role as Ashley, should the producers of the show want her back in the future.
Eileen first made her debut in Genoa City back in 1982. And while she might be taking a break from the show right now, the soap’s executive producer Mal Young believes that we might be seeing Eileen back sooner rather than later.
Mal told CBS Soaps in Depth in a new interview, “I hate to see anyone go, especially a great character and a great actress of this stature. When I first watched this show before I got here, I was always drawn to Eileen. Now I can say that she’s never disappointed me. She challenges me as a writer to give her the best material possible.”

What’s more, Mal says that he’s proud of what the two of them have accomplished together on the show. He further added, “She’s been giving such mazing performances that I can hardly get my job done because I keep stopping to watch the monitor whenever she’s on.”
Mal also teases that before Ashley’s final episode, there will be quite a few surprises in store. Fans will have to tune in to find out what will happen!
