Sorry, Elena, (Brytni Sarpy) dreaming about kissing Devon (Bryton James) under the mistletoe doesn’t erase your free will actions at the New Hope clinic. That medical location’s name is rather ironic, since that’s where hope of any future with Devon seems to have ended.

If truth be told and it is, Elena was never that deeply in love with Devon. While this subjective conclusion could be wrong and can certainly be debated, her interest in Nate (Sean Dominic) and cavort with him seem to speak more loudly to Elena’s internal feelings.

Elena met Devon at a time in her life when she was single and vulnerable. Devon was the knight in shining armor, who enabled her uncle to more easily handle his health issues and revive his music career.

As her storyline progressed, Elena was the person who helped pull Devon through the ravages of grief, which followed his loss of Hilary Hamilton (Morgan) and Hevon’s unborn child. So, drama caused both people to bond, but doesn’t seem to have generated a dominant, unmovable commitment.

Y&R Spoilers – Devon Hamilton Well Past Hurt

Devon has been saying that Amanda (Mishael Morgan) isn’t Hilary since Morgan’s second character told him who she was at the penthouse last year. But the link to the greatest love of his life has represented a fully unique option that no other woman can match.

Elena’s jealously built inside of her soul for more than a year. She noticed the growing interplay between Devon and Amanda, fearing it represented an eventuality between them. Then, in an act that could have been a self-fulfilling prophecy, Elena generated controversy that caused Devon to pursue what has become the early stages of a personal relationship.

What happen between Elena and Nate represents more than a mistake. To Devon, it was a declaration that his relationship with Dawson’s character was over.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Kudos To All The Actors

As Y&R fans know, James and Sarpy have been a real life off-screen couple for awhile. So, working the breakup scenes must have been challenging. Surely, they never want to live out what Devon and Elena were scripted to experience. So, James and Sarpy surely projected heavy play acting.

Dominic is thriving in his role as the recast Nate. He’s strongly mixed Nate’s loneliness, hope, and despair in recent weeks, offering depth to this edition of the longtime character who hardcore fans have known since birth.

As for Morgan, her morph into this new persona has been fully impressive. The demeanor that Amanda offers, including how she relates to others, most especially Devon, reinforces this superb actor’s great chops.
