The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers reveal that Eric Braeden (Victor Newman) recently reached out to congratulate Doug Davidson (Paul Williams) on an impressive milestone. On Twitter, Braeden showed some love to his pal and longtime costar. Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki Newman) even got in on the fun with her own kind and congratulatory words.
Braeden started off the exchange by sending out a tweet in praise of Davidson’s big accomplishment. “I have been remiss in congratulating my friend DOUGIE DAVIDSON ON 41 Years on Y&R!” Braeden insisted. “HAVE LOVED WORKING WITH HIM FOR ALL THIS TIME! A GREAT ACTOR AND A GOOD FRIEND!”
That led to Davidson’s reply, which included a minor correction and a little joke about his lengthy run at The Young and the Restless. “42, but who’s counting! Thank you, Eric! Or maybe there was one year in there you didn’t want to congratulate me? Hahaha,” Davidson tweeted.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Eric Braden And Doug Davidson Good Friends
When you’ve been on Y&R for over four decades, it’s an easy mistake to make! Davidson certainly didn’t hold it against Braeden, who he obviously considers a good friend as well. These two are always lifting each other up with supportive tweets and positive comments.
After Davidson offered his reply to Braeden, Melody Thomas Scott decided to chime in with one of her own. “Congratulations, my darling Dougie!” Scott tweeted. “You were my first partner in crime in Genoa City and taught me so much. I love you so much.”
Of course, Davidson wanted to give credit to Scott for teaching him, too. It’s great when costars can listen and learn from each other, especially when they work together for so many years. “Nonsense! You were the brains of the operation!!!” Davidson told Scott. There’s mutual respect between these performers that’s really nice to see.
Y&R Spoilers – Doug Davidson’s Milestone
According to Soaps in Depth, Davidson first reported working at the Y&R studio 42 years ago on May 15, which led to his first episode airing a little over a week later. May 23 will mark Davidson’s on-air anniversary with the show, so Braeden’s not too late to acknowledge this milestone.

Yes,. I constantly find myself asking why doesn’t this good actor and his interesting character get better stories and more screen time. The show could do with giving less stories and screen time to the terribly acted and stupid Phyllis stories and more time to Paul instead.
We need them to continue on the show! I don’t want either one of them to leave!
