The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers implied that the land of Genoa City would be shaken up during February. As a “Sweeps” month, where ratings are counted, soaps tend to ramp up the drama factor to encourage viewers to tune in. With that said, the land of GC has been a bit of a bust the past few weeks, when it comes to shock, romance, and intrigue. While there have been some interesting character returns, the soap hasn’t exactly kept viewers on the edge of their seats.
The Young And The Restless Spoilers – The Good, The Bad, & The Ugly Storylines
Y&R spoilers for February hinted at some incredible character returns, and they delivered. Heather Stevens (Vail Bloom) made a comeback and reunited Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) with his daughter Lucy Romalotti (Lily Brooks O’Briant). With that said, it seemed like she was returning with reunion plans of her own, which would’ve placed a snag in the budding romance Daniel has with Lily Winters (Christel Khalil). Alas, Stevens came back to let Daniel know she’s moved on. A bit of a downer for drama; however, it is what it is.
The infamous Jeremy Stark (James Hyde) also returned and somehow sprung out of prison, but somehow viewers knew that it was only a matter of time before this would happen. As dark and dangerous as the show tries to portray him, Stark’s storyline has provided very little when it comes to intimation.
The “mixing-business-with-pleasure” romance going on between Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic) and Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) is interesting, but unless they start doing a little more than kissing, it seems as if even this February Sweeps storyline will continue to be a yawner. Considering their histories, they are moving at a snail’s pace.
Some other notes to file under Y&R’s “February Sweep fails”? Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) hooking up and flaunting it in everyone’s faces. Not to mention, Devon Hamilton’s (Bryton James) whining about the Chancellor-Winters IPO and threatening legal action.
Y&R Spoilers – There’s Still Some Time Left To Redeem
Y&R spoilers suggest that things could perk up a bit as February winds to a close. It looks like Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) will finally learn which brother is the father of Baby Newman. While most viewers can see (from a mile away) that it’ll be Adam Newman (Mark Grossman), it’ll be interesting to see if Spectra will come clean to him about the baby, or if she continues to cover it up. Plus, added teasers note that Jack may present younger brother Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) with the vacant co-CEO Jabot role. This would be an interesting development since it wasn’t too long ago that Billy-boy wanted out of the family biz. Still, he may feel as if he needs to step up to the plate to help his brother. Even if it’s for a short time.
