The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers for Friday, August 21, tease that Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will talk with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) at Crimson Lights. Kyle will try to rush away from Nick, but Nick will tell Kyle to sit down for a little chat. Turns out, Nick will be leading Kyle on, and he’ll soon reveal that he’s just putting on a disapproving dad act.

Kyle will then reveal to Nick that he and Summer Newman (Hunter King) have decided to have an open relationship where they’re together but seeking connections with other people. Nick will fume, and he’ll be ready to throw Kyle through a wall when Kyle reveals that he’s just kidding. Nick will have fallen for it hook, line, and sinker.

Later, Young and the Restless spoilers reveal Kyle and Nick will have a serious talk about Kyle and Summer’s relationship, and Kyle will tell Nick that he will do everything in his power to protect Summer. Further, Kyle will say that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone in the way that he hurt Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) ever again. Kyle will way that he and Summer waited a long time to be together and that Summer is the only woman in his heart.

Next on Y&R, at Society, Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) will be anxious and excited as he waits to hear about whether he got the gig that he pitched at Chancellor Communications. Theo will talk about his wait with Lola, saying that the best part about the position would be that he did it on his own. Theo and Lola will chat about Lola’s career as well, with Lola saying that she wants to make a name for herself in Genoa City.

Next on Y&R, Abby Newman (Melissa Ordway) will be curious when she overhears Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) on the phone talking about her big new plans. Abby will go snooping around for information, but Phyllis won’t give up what she’s got planned. Abby will wonder whether Phyllis is in financial trouble, which will start the usual bantering between the women. Phyllis will tell Abby that she’ll find out the big news when everyone else does.

Over at Chancellor Communications, Young and the Restless spoilers show Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will chat while Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) is away. Lily will have sent word that she’s on board with the Theo hire, but Billy will still be having doubts. Amanda will urge Billy to take a risk on Theo. Amanda and Billy will also talk about Ripley Turner’s (Christian Keyes) upcoming trial, and Billy and Amanda will each express guilt over Victoria Newman’s (Amelia Heinle) but they’ll be glad that they are still on good terms with each other.

Next on Y&R, Kyle will show up at Society, talking to Theo briefly about Theo’s possible hire at Chancellor Communications. Kyle will be sincere as he says that he hopes the job works out for Theo. Kyle will also talk with Lola, telling her that their divorce will be final soon. Kyle will wish Lola luck – even with Theo. Later, Theo will share with Lola that he got the Chancellor Communications job. Theo and Lola will agree to a date to celebrate.

Finally, on Friday’s new episode of Y&R, Billy and Amanda will call it quits at Chancellor Communications, as Billy heads out for the night to spend time with his kids. Billy will leave Amanda in charge, while over at the Grand Phoenix, Nick will arrive to find Phyllis there, fresh from her sparring session with Abby. Phyllis will tell Nick that she’s got a task for him.
