I just tested positive for coronavirus. I am a pretty healthy 43-year-old who doesn’t smoke, doesn’t drink much, eats well and exercises regularly and this has been the hardest experience of my life. Two+ weeks ago, everyone in my house had a bit of a cough and my son came home from school with a high fever. Everyone recovered, but I deteriorated. I isolated from my family and have been in solo quarantine since Saturday the 14th. I had a fever for 11 days, difficulty breathing and was diagnosed with pneumonia. I’m confident that I have finally turned the proverbial corner and am fever free today for the first time since this all started. I was told to stay isolated for another 72 hours before I acclimate back into my family. So, nice try coronavirus, but I have another 4-5 decades worth of experiences to have with these guys. Furthermore, I want to thank you all for the well wishes and I hope you heed the warnings. Stay safe, stay healthy and stay inside. ❤️

Y&R Spoilers: Greg Rikaart’s Symptoms

Rikaart explained on Instagram that two weeks ago, everyone in his home came down with a cough. Everyone got better except for the soap star. In fact, his condition continued to get worse. To protect his family, including his child, he decided to be proactive and self-isolate. However, time did not allow his body to recover and his condition began to become serious.

Condition Deteriorated, Developed Pneumonia

The Young and the Restless spoilers reveal eventually, Rikaart would once again seek medical help. By the time doctors gave him a test for coronavirus, he had already developed pneumonia.

In the actor’s post from last week, one of the reasons doctors refused to test him for COVID-19 is because he didn’t meet the strict criteria. He was also told that there were limited testing kits, which were being reserved for the most serious cases.

The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Positive COVID-19 Test

Despite Rikaart knowing deep inside his gut that he was infected with coronavirus, he could not get tested until it became serious. However, he is just starting to show improvement and is on the road to recovery.

“I had a fever for 11 days, difficulty breathing and was diagnosed with pneumonia.”

He definitely seems in better spirits and is glad to be on the mend. He wrote,

“So, nice try coronavirus, but I have another 4-5 decades worth of experiences to have with these guys.”

We are happy that Greg Rikaart is finally getting better. It’s been a tough few weeks for the soap actor. We continue to send our best wishes to him and his family.
