Los Angeles native Melody Thomas Scott’s very first acting credit was in a movie by legendary director Alfred Hitchcock, 1964’s Marnie.
Barely out of her teen years, Melody had already crafted an impressive resume that included appearances in the John Wayne film, The Shootist, as well as the hit series The Waltons, The Rockford Files, Charlie’s Angels, The Nanny and The King of Queens.

Melody debuted on Y&R in 1979, at the tender age of 23. Nikki was a stripper, and titan of industry Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) was a fan of her considerable talent.
They eventually married (and divorced!) over the years, in a turbulent relationship that nonetheless was the rock of both of their lives.
Attesting to her invaluable contributions to the number one rated daytime drama, the show featured a stand-alone episode in 2019 in honor of Melody’s 40th year with the serial.
Y&R Spoilers – Has Been An Immeasurable Part Of Melody Thomas Scott’s Life
Not only has Melody dedicated her life to her role on Y&R, but the show has also been an integral part of her personal life as well. She met her husband, Edward J. Scott, the show’s executive producer, on the fabled set. The happy couple married in 1985.

Her autobiography, Always Young and Restless, is due to be released in July.
The lovely and talented actress reportedly will discuss her complicated upbringing as well as insider stories from her rise to fame.
The book’s release reveals that “Readers will learn how she suffered at home with her grandmother, a compulsive hoarder whose cruelty as her guardian is shockingly extreme; abuse at the hands of industry men; the intensity of acting in feature films with Alfred Hitchcock and Clint Eastwood; and how she finally took control of her life and career, in a getaway move as daring as any on Young and the Restless.”
She will also share, “juicy on-and-off-set details of what it’s like to be one-half of the show’s most successful supercouple, Niktor.”
